Lots to talk about. Haven't been online in a week, I missed you guys... haha.

So, first of all, Anime Boston. Pictures!

Wednesday was the big day. FIVE YEARS. ^_^ Phill came over and to be honest, I can't remember what we did -- never can, it seems, though I know there was more than just games involved this time -- but he spent the night anyway. He planned to leave in the evening and just forgot. o_o But it was a good thing he DID stay the night because disaster (in my book) broke out on Thursday morning.

THURSDAY
I was all packed for AB, and was trying to fit my pillow in my equipment/weapons bag when the thing ripped right down the side. It was half past ten and time to leave so I could find Lynda and head to Port Authority, but nothing doing if I couldn't carry all my stuff over there. Phill wrapped all the weapons together somehow and we lugged everything over. It was tough going. I thank him so much, though, because if it weren't for him, I'd've been in one helluva pickle.

So I make it to Rosie and.... Lynda's not where I told her to be. Phill left and searched the station and found her; she wasn't too far away, but needless to say, she didn't follow my instructions about waiting in the BACK of the MANHATTAN-bound side. :::sigh::: But we found her and made it to the PA quickly, so that's good. Got the tickets and on the bus sans problème.

YAY BOSTON, after a brief stop in Framingham. We napped and ate sugary foods -- mmm, Passover cookies -- and talked a lot. Four and a half hours, really quick, I think.

We met up with Lynda's friends, Inyx and Jen, and they took us on the T -- which is only $1.25, so cool -- back to Berklee, where Jen goes to school. We dumped our stuff, and found people and picked up our badges and ate. Hours later, I called Amy and got to her place, not too far off from the convention site. I got to ride the T all weekend. It was mostly a two-stop shuttle between St. Mary's St. and the Hynes, but still.

And it's so weird, Boston. It's a weird parallel kinda place. There was a Stony Brook and a Forest Hills stop on the T, not to mention that Boston's in Suffolk County. Walking down Mass. Ave. was similar to walking down Queens Blvd. (minus the "A pedestrian was killed crossing here" signs), and Goddesses bless Bostonians, cuz they hate the Stankees as much as I do. It's like QUEENS, man. Creepy.

(The T is cute, too. The Green Line was a two-car thing, kinda like the G train, but their cars have pivots in them; only certain city busses in Manhattan and the Bronx have that here. The Red Line was a normal-sized dealie. I didn't see the Blue or Orange Lines, though I would have liked to. That's all they have. The Green Line splits into four separate mini-lines, I suppose (B, C, D and E), kinda like our trains, except we call them by letter all the time. It's not like I'd ever say, "get off at 34th and transfer to the orange line." Haha. But it's nice, and very easy for me to understand (not Lynda. Awww). I never did get a system map, but I kept a T token. THEY STILL USE TOKENS!!!! <3 And they have those old turnstiles that the subway used to have that are SOOOO easily jumped. And it's like a bus, too. And I'm ranting so I'll shut up now.)

FRIDAY
Friday, we got to the Hynes relatively late. I can't remember everything we did; don't have my schedule here with me. Amy started the day as Umi (Magic Knights Rayearth) and I as Ed (Cowboy Bebop). I wore my highsocks; I thought it was a nice touch. The first cosplayer I happened to see was a Spike. He, unfortunately, never saw ME, and nearly toppled over as I glomped him. We ran around, lalala. Found Dustin, who was Ed (Fullmetal Alchemist). Amy took a picture of me sitting on his shoulders. We ate lunch, went over to the Cowboy Bebop shoot at the photo station and.... I was the only one there. We watched a Greg Ayres/Chris Patton signing, but that was about it before we decided to leave. Oh well. Dealers' Room, art show, got the CAD poster for Alex. We spent a lot of time in the Artists' Alley, though. Some of the stuff there was SOOOOO good.

Three-thirtyish rolled around and given the Final Fantasy group shoot at four, we changed. I was Rinoa, of course, Amy threw her White Mage cloak on over her Umi costume, and borrowed my wig. The shoot was disgusting. You couldn't NOT be next to a Rinoa (Lynda was taking pictures and said I was the best one, making faces though I was). There were lots of White Mages, too. And, for as many people as were there, the shoot lasted maybe a half-hour. We went around for the rest of the day as FF characters.

Like I said, I can't remember what we did. Oh, and Lynda had my weapons (as well as my Link costume, cuz she borrowed it) up in her hotel room. Not that I needed them on Friday, but the next day....

(I remember meeting Kim, finally, and Christina and Mama, being pulled around in a car, and eventually getting both an autograph AND a hug from Scott McNeil......)

SATURDAY
Saturday we got up early to make the video game shoot at 10 AM. Of course, Lynda had my costume so I couldn't wear it straight off. I dressed and left as Kikyou in the morning, Amy as Megumi from Kenshin. I got to Lynda's room and changed hurriedly. I did a less-than-stellar job, but still managed to make the shoot. There weren't many cosplayers: me, another AWESOME Link, Mario and Peach. Peach had all her Melee stuff with her over the course of the con and she was the first to win a ribbon for her costume; it only took her THIRTY MINUTES. The dress itself was incredible and the Con Chowda (program) issued on Saturday said it cost $600 to make. No wonder. @_@; We took a few casual shots and a large crowd had gathered -- seemed like it was almost the size of the one that showed for the FF group -- so we had to move away from the dealers' room and artists' alley lines, which was great, because it allowed us to pose as though we were having a Melee battle. :D!!! When I get pictures, they'll be up. Yay.

After the shoot, it was 10:30. I had to do another costume change, back into Kikyou. The InuYasha/Kenshin group shoot was at noon, so I had plenty of time to change, which was great. Unfortunately, the Johnny Yong Bosch/Melissa Fahn signing was also at noon, and if I didn't get on that line EARLY, there was no way I was going to get their autographs, especially since I had missed their panels on Friday! So I did another rush job on Kikyou (Dustin noticed there was something slightly off about my ears, cuz I was still wearing my extensions), and ran down to the line.

It was 20 after noon when we got our autographs, and not that it wasn't worth the wait, but we'd missed the shoot. Tear. I changed into Kikyou for nothing AND I had to bug Lynda a third time to change. That teared it. I stayed as Link. And this time, I could slow down and do it properly, and not glue my ears to my HAIR.

I whored myself. I was a DAMNED good Link -- the one from Shoujocon '03 recognized me -- and thought I deserved a ticket or two or three. Dustin got one for his Vash while we waited on the signings line. Grrr. No dice. Wandered around the dealers' room, artists' alley, upstairs, downstairs, NOTHING. It was harder than pulling teeth, and getting me VERY frustrated. Navi alone should have gotten me stuff because no one ever carries her. Or a healing faerie. Or a poe. Or 154 rupees. Or any of the other stuff I had with me but no one cared to ask for that (cept this one girl, who was AMAZED by all my crap and shouted in the hall to attract attention. It didn't work, but I give her all the credit in the world. And Sango is her favorite InuYasha character, too. ^_^). I started to take pictures with either my faerie or my poe to hopefully catch someone's attention. The people who took the pictures seemed to like it....

I need my schedule because I can't remember what I did next, though I remember going to Mookie's panel.

I remember that I was waiting online to get into the masquerade -- that line was INSANE, omfg -- and we were bored, so we decided to start a wave. "We" was me and the new friends I had made in the line. We got it going pretty well, too. But, the Masquerade itself was rather boring, so I left twenty minutes in, and I stayed through ALL of Bad Luck, so that shows my endurance there.

They needed Mike, man. NEEDED. I wanted to cry.

I went down to karaoke and screwed up Sakura Saku so badly. I tried, but it just wasn't happening; it was too out of my range and for some reason, the mic wasn't picking up sounds that were coming in softly, like my falsetto, so I sounded worse. And that wasn't just for me, either. Everyone suffered. I felt bad for some people because you could BARELY hear them.

During the break in Sakura Saku, I decided to whore myself again. "Who here thinks this is a halfway decent Link costume?" They gathered cheered loudly. "TELL THE STAFF! No one has said a word to me all day!" That's when the staff called me and they held up TWO tickets for me. I finished my song and started talking to one of them. She said she liked how my ears were actually brown -- so that they almost kinda matched my skin tone (my skin is too red, man... augh) -- and the only fault she could find was that my shield was raw around the edges and damaged. Yeah, well, it got damaged on the ride up, and I know the edges were raw, but if THAT was all she could come up with, then I did a damned fine job. As I sat down, friends came into the room and we talked. I'm SOOOO glad they didn't hear me kill the song. ...at least I knew all the words by heart.

Kim later sang Eyes On Me, and since she stole my song -- not that I was going to sing it anyway -- I decided to stick with something more in my range and so 1000 no Kotoba instead. I rocked it (forgot a syllable here and there, but I fudged it). It was SO much better than Sakura Saku. Never singing that again, lol, though the CCS theme got stuck in my head -- Ray-kun explained it's like a brain itch -- and I just might perform that at NEXT if I'm feeling up for the challenge.

What did we do after that, go home? Don't remember.... Probably. It was late and we kinda didn't want to miss the last T. ... Yup. "Last" T. I am unfamiliar with the concept of there being a "last" train. Hahaha.

SUNDAY
Sunday we woke up early again and Amy, again, tried to straighten her hair. It didn't work because it was raining, 94% humidity. Wonderful, huh? It frizzed right back up. Not like anyone could tell that her character was supposed to have straight hair, anyway, or so we thought.

Thirteen people recognized us as Reka and Diane. More accurately, they mostly recognized me, which was surprising. Poor Amy either got called Cherry -- of all things -- or people didn't bother to recognize her. How could people forget her harlot outfit?! She only wore it until #387 (though the mage outfit is introduced in #392, yes, I just looked it up). But thirteen! That's nearly double I-Con (seven). Yay! On top of that, one of the thirteen was a staffer, who called me, then gave me a ticket. I was so surprised that I didn't have to DO anything for it. I was jumping and squealing when ANOTHER staffer behind me called me and gave me a ticket too! (Amy bugged him for one.) I ran to volee HQ -- where all my stuff was, so Lynda and I could leave straight from the Hynes -- to get the other two out of my pocket, keep one and give the other to Amy. We went to the repair station to redeem mine and then, with the sidequest completed, we proceeded to whore out Diane for another so she could get a ribbon, too.

Our harlot was on the clock. I thought it was awesome. Unfortunately, we never did get that third ticket. I wanted it so badly! I'd finally gotten mine, and it's not fair that she didn't get hers. But we DID find bunny ears and make a makeshift bunny Diane.

What else? There wasn't much going on on Sunday (there really wasn't much going on the whole con, but I'll be easy because AB is still young), so we mostly walked. There was this girl outside the dealers' room playing anime/game tunes on a keyboard, so I tossed some change into her case and told her about Piano Squall and gave her my business card.

More wandering around the alley, I suppose.

We decided to leave around 3:30. Lynda and I hopped the T and made it to South Station no problem, yay subway experience! The 4:30 bus ahead of our 5:00 bus wasn't on time, so not only did we have to wait on a heinous line, Lynda decided to go and have a panic attack AGAIN. She had one on Friday, but this time she was acting a little angrier. She'd be a perfect Plum if we ever did a big RPGW group. *_* We pulled out of South Station a few minutes late and were on our way.

We didn't stop in Framingham, rather, we went straight through to New York AND we didn't cut through Jersey like we did on the way up. As a result, we pulled in at 9, which means it was LESS than four hours from New York to Boston, which nearly killed me. I love trips with good timing!

Got on the subway and I forgot to mention I got a big new plastic bag to hold all my stuff. And it's so big that it actually CLOSES with everything inside except my wrench, and then only one of the heads pokes out. I changed, watched Robot Chicken and went to bed.

Yestertoday, Monday, I just hung out. Played a little more Wind Waker, and am trying to figure out how to tell Zunari I caught the theif trying to break into his safe. Gotta clean before Mom gets home, Phill's gonna stop by tomorrow (Weds). I need to clean my room, too. I've got all my stuff thrown across the floor; it's always a disaster area a few days after a trip.

Okay, that's it. I've been at the computer for ten hours, now. Not talking, done with pictures and the post. BEDTIME. Yay.

OH. And Warky sent me the Eyes On Me video from I-Con, so if you're interested, e-mail me. Just a warning, though, it's 24 MB. And I hate to toot my own horn, but WOW, I sound amazing.

DUDE I had a dream last night that I was in Boston. It was for a college bowl tournament or something, and when I was wandering around the city I wound up at Fenway. People started heckling me once they found out I was from NYC.

O.o

You Fail It

Most women don't have falsettos. You probably just have head voice (kekeke).

Well then what do you call it when I go high out of my natural range? Falsetto's the best way to describe it.

::shakes head:: You're such a pain, you know that?

I like the little tokens. They amuse me. Sometime in the next year or so, we're switching over to a Metrocard-like system.

I had a lot of fun that weekend...Venus, if you ever want to come hang out in Boston again, you have my number.
