I don't remember when it happened, but sometime this afternoon, Murphy's Law hit the photo booth HARD.

John nearly (thank goodness) forgot to stick the memory card in the camera before he went and did tour photos. We joked about how he would take seventy and then none of them would be there... especially not the little girl with leukemia. And then she'd cry blood tears because it was her dying wish to come see the show at Radio City and have her picture taken and all that junk... it was awful, but funny at the time. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, because even if (the hypothetical and imaginary) leukemia girl had come down for her picture, she wouldn't have bought it. We sold ONE tour photo all day. I hope the higher-ups realize what a stupid idea the tour photos were because they're not selling at ALL. I don't think we'd even be able to give them away.

Anyway. There was something of a line for sleigh photos, so it must have been about 1:00, when the first show let out and people still lingered but the second show was coming in. Either way, there was a wait. We had some jobs in the queue, and everything had so far gone well.

Sean knocked out the power cord with his foot, so everything but ONE sales station shut off. The line grew, people got frustrated that all I could say was "It'll just be a minute..."

Before long, we were back up and running and everything was okay. The 5x7s that were lost were AMEXed through (because no one has a compensation code, so we couldn't just reprint them) and we were on our merry way. Until Sean hit the power cord again.

We need that yellow thing back. It held the cords in place so that there was no WAY we'd knock them out, even if we stood right on top of them.

This time, we had three jobs in the printers, and a couple more in the queue. Sean had just sold two 5x7 mattes and two 8x10 FRAMES (which is a $75 order), but we had to start everything over (groan!) . The 5x7s were AMEXed through again, but what about the 8x10s?! We couldn't comp them, and the people certainly weren't about to get in the sleigh all over again. We eventually gave the dude back his fifty dollars (;-;) after he'd been frustrated and waiting for twenty minutes. Fortunately, no more 8x10s were ordered... the printer is really hit-or-miss with them, anyway.

But that's not such a big deal. That's happened before. It's frustrating when everything goes down, and it's worse when we have to lose orders because of it. But, like I said, it got worse.

Yolanda's machine suddenly didn't want to work. Like, it didn't want to reboot, kinda work. She'd been fumbling around with cash for a while, but someone wanted to pay by credit and that caused a fuss because she couldn't get her supervisor to come over and when she did, the supervisor kinda complained. But she couldn't boot the machine either, and since she couldn't do that, and couldn't get into the cash drawer (because she had the wrong key), poor Yolanda had to work out of a pouch and write down each and every transaction made. It was awful. I felt so bad for her, especially after yesterday, and how helpful she is. She's awesome, really. This went on for a while, BEFORE THE SHOW.

Then there was a lull. I heard the music coming in over the speakers and I fell to the floor and started laughing. Hard. I cried. It was so funny because everything was going so horribly wrong (it wasn't as bad as I make it sound; it was ten times worse) but there was still hapy Christmas music in the background. It was just so ridiculous and so absurd, I couldn't help myself.

John had come back from taking tour photos and mentioned something about how when they came back with the proper key, it would get stuck and break off in the lock. I laughed again because it was too funny.

We got everything back and going before intermission, but still. Geez.

Other things at work: I forgot to mention the PIMP that stopped by on Monday. An actual, real-life pimp. It was kinda weird and kinda creepy. We (me and Mandy) wanted to comp out the picture (but again, no comp code) and stick it in the closet with the other bad pictures and the one of someone proposing to his girlfriend.

Crap. There was more; I'll think of it. Oooh, I can almost sit like Wendy can, with my knees together on the ground, but my feet apart and my butt on the ground, too. It's difficult. Either I just can't bend that way because of how I'm built or because my muscles are too tight. I'm hoping on the latter because I've made progress in the past week.

OoT. Making progress. Took a break right before fighting Morpha to check forums and write this. I've got 27 Skulltulas to go, and ten or so Heart Pieces. I still need my arrow upgrades and the fourth bottle, but everything else that I have yet to get are things I'll get over the course of the game anyway (like the Lens of Truth or the Mirror Shield).

Oh. Right. Work stuff. It's weird, but lately, a lot of the guys there have been talking to me (I hope I'm not jumping to conclusions and that it doesn't make me sound conceited). Sean is one, and it's weirding me out because it's obvious that we're so different, given what he's said about race and homosexuality (I disagree with what he said on both topics completely, but that's beside the point). But today this other guy that I swear I've never seen before was talking to me and we had quite a long conversation about nothing in particular. I was just being nice, I mean, I'm not going to snap "Go away!" when he was being so friendly. I don't know why they're talking to me, either. It's sudden, and it's kinda scaring me. I really don't know how to react. I'm going to continue being friendly, you know, but... it's just an odd feeling. I can't really explain it. And I've noticed it happening a LOT this week, which is why it's on my mind. Augh. How do I ask for help? Should I bother? I've only got two more weeks of work...

Anything else? Hmmmm. Don't think so. Got an early day tomorrow, though. Yippie. ¬_¬ Well, back to the game.
