More like sub-NO-way!
Dec. 17th, 2004 10:53 pmSo much trouble coming and going. I was late to work this morning because of a "sick passenger" on the train. We were held at 21st St. in Queens. Had we been in Manhattan, I'd've left and taken a bus somewhere. But noooo. And it took half an hour -- thirty whole minutes -- for EMS to arrive and help this person out. Yeesh. Not to mention the person next to me was listening to really loud really BAD Mexican music and I was annoyed half to death (but I wasn't going to stand up on such a crowded train!). Then as I was walking the one block between the subway and the entrance, someone blew cigar smoke in my face. On the way home, "due to a stalled train and a signal malfunction," there were no uptown B, D, F or V trains between Broadway-Lafayette and 57th St. Well, why don't you just say there aren't any uptown 6th Ave. trains in ALL OF MANHATTAN?! Cuz that's what it was. I had to go home the insanely long way: B/D/F/V (whichever came first) downtown one stop to 42nd St., walk over to Times Square for the 7, take that to 74th St.-Broadway (there's a Broadway in every borough, just so you know), then go downstairs and take the F from there. Insane, I tell you. X_X And I'd just missed the Q2, because there was NO ONE standing at the bus stop (luckily for me, one pulled up as I was walking to the stop). I had a nice conversation with Slaby while I was on the 7 about the MTA and his CTA (Chicago Transit Authority). His is SO much better. The base fare is a quarter cheaper and you can go bus-subway-bus on one $2 fare (the transfer is an extra 25 cents, like Nassau busses), as long as it's all in two hours. We need that. But nooooo. We get service cuts and fare hikes.
New York, New York, it's a helluva town indeed. Hyphen underscore hyphen semicolon semicolon.
I knocked out the power cords twice. Fortunately, no jobs were lost. The corner register is now a Venus-free zone. X_X!!
I had to take tour photos today. I was given some slight training... it was a little embarrassing, but I got through it. I'll get the hang of it just in time for New Year's. ^_^; I got paid today, though, so that's good. I was surprised when Doug gave me my check because I'd completely forgotten today was Friday. Tomorrow, the mall. Sunday, West Babylon. Right now, bed. ^_^
Shin Koyamada? Is HOT. Shoot those arrows, you sexy thing, you.
