Olua-and-the-Millers Day!
May. 20th, 2007 09:43 pmI started Yuki's shirt today! I've got two seams done. XD
After waiting for Olua for two hours -- apparently, she was arguing with her mother -- outside of Katie-and-Keri's house, the four of us finally reunited. Before long, we went in search of food and had some cheap Chinese.
As we sat on the stoop eating, we noticed the clouds rolling in and the drizzle start to fall. Mercifully, it was a relatively short shower, and so we were able to go back outside (which was fantastic for me, because all the animals (at least two cats, a big dog and a ferret) in the Miller household really get to me after, oh, twenty seconds. But at least my eye didn't swell up! XD). We were a bit bored and discovered some old VHS tapes in the piles of trash that Mrs. Miller had set to throw out.
We decided that we were going to smash the tapes with a baseball bat. And so we did. The "rules" were that we were self-pitching, and had to keep trying until we freed the spool from the casing. I did surprisingly well, hitting the spool out of the casing on my first swing for three of four tapes (once left-handed! I'm a switch hitter!). After four rounds, the street was covered in bits of plastic and what must have been a mile of tape, so I decided that we HAD to clean up. I was so afraid of someone driving past and popping a tire on the plastic. It's a good thing that I finally got the girls to start cleaning because Mr. Miller came outside and scolded us. He ordered us to clean the whole mess up, so it was good that we were already halfway done.
It was getting too dark for VHS baseball, besides. But Keri took a bunch of pictures, and hopefully, she can get them developed soon. I expect that most of them are rather blurry and/or out of focus, but at least one or two should be pretty neat.
And then we walked Bear (the dog), and Mr. Miller very generously drove me home. It'd be an awesome day, except the Mets were down three in the fifth the last time I checked. D: Edit, 11:24: The Yankees won, 6-2. D: D: D:
